Today I wanted to share a review I recently did. I first meet The Simply Bar at the Blend Retreat. They were given out to us on our hike as fuel, and wow I was really happy we had it on hand, that hike was no joke. It gave me the fuel to push through the hike.
So when Jesseny contacted me to do a review of the bar and some of the select flavors, I was super excited. I love the simplicity of the bar, I see where the name came from, no other way to describe it. Real ingredients, real flavor, it’s simply real food.
- Lemon Coconut – Amazing flavor and texture and there are real pieces of coconut in the bar. Not only do you smell the coconut and taste it, you also get the lemon flavor and lemon scent loud and clear along with the coconut. Amazing flavor combination. To be honest I would have never thought that I would like this flavor combination, but I really did.
- Cinnamon Pecan – Something comforting about this flavor. The smell of cinnamon always gets me. I honestly can taste the ingredients. Truly love it when a product is true to its flavors. The pieces of pecans were fresh and crisp.
- Peanut Butter Chocolate – If you like chocolate, you will love this flavor, really has a sweet flavor without all the sugar, remember these are real ingredients without unnecessary added sugar.
- Caramel Peanut – So far there is not a flavor in the bunch that I can even say the slightest negative thing about. I am a huge fan of caramel flavor and loved the added peanuts in the crisps.
The one thing that really draws me to The Simply Bar is the high protein value, 16 grams of protein in each bar. Then the next draw for me is fact that the bar is not all chopped up and processed together into a solid mass and dipped in chocolate. I love the fact that the bar keeps its crispy texture which allows the bar to be savored and chewed. I am a fan of The Simply Bar.
Less sugar than fiber. No artificial sweeteners or sugar alcohols. I’m all over that.
My personal favorite after tasting them all was the Lemon Coconut, but I really enjoyed them all. I had it in my head that the caramel was probably going to be my favorite, because anything caramel is normally a favorite flavor, but for this review I let The Simply Bar speak to my taste buds, and that was the one that stood out. They taste natural and healthy. So I have to give these bars 4 stars. I’m hooked.
Now Let’s talk about the stats. The Simply Bar is a high protein, low sugar, low-fat, low glycemic bar with only a handful of natural ingredients. The company was Founded by Cathy Richards. She created the Simply Bars after experiencing difficulties finding snacks that didn’t upset her stomach. She has Crohn’s Disease.
Each bar contains 16 g protein, 2-4g of fat, 3 g of sugar, 4 g of fiber, and 160 calories or less. Each bar is based on Non GMO soy crisps along organic brown rice syrup. All the cocoa bars are made with organic cocoa.
Loved by many, The Simple Bar makes a great snack for athletes (pre and post workout), vegans, health conscious individuals and those suffering from Celiac, Crohn’s and IBS. In addition to it being a great snack, The Simply Bar is gluten-free, low GI, dairy free, Kosher and easy-to-digest.
